The Difference
At The Life Grove we weave sessions in nature into each of our treatment plans as often as possible. Recent research reiterates what we have known for centuries, but rarely practiced. Time in the woods revives the mind and settles the soul.
We offer a marked one and half mile walking trail, as well as 117 acres of walking through the trees or sitting in the grove observing the movement and life of the forest.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

It also significantly reduces anxiety and depression through improving sense of self and relationships with others. It equips people with skills to bring change.. There are four primary tenants of DBT; mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT is a type of psychological intervention that focuses on the development of psychological flexibility, or the ability to contact the present moment and accept negative thoughts without judgment. Created by Steven C. Hayes, Kirk D. Strosahl, and Kelly G. Wilson, ACT focuses on directing behavior in ways that match clients’ core values.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is an innovative therapy using aspects of EMDR, mindfulness, and body-based therapies. In a brainspotting session we find spots in a clients visual field that connect to painful events. This newer and growing therapy is used to treat trauma and complex PTSD to access difficult memories and experiences that have resulted in anxiety, depression, and physical pain.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is a name used for a broad range of psychotherapies that aim to help clients overcome dysfunctional thought patterns and behavioral patterns. These psychotherapies have several characteristics in common, for example, all forms of CBT are based on the idea that thoughts primarily affect our emotions and actions. As a result, CBT focuses on changing and controlling the way the client deals with his or her thoughts. CBT therapists may encourage clients to challenge the damaging beliefs and assumptions they have about themselves and their world.
